What is double glazing?
Double glazed units are formed by two panes of glass which are separated by an extruded spacer bar which is filled with a desiccant, they are then sealed together around the edges to hold together and form a fully sealed double glazed unit.

Broken down double glazing, holes had been drilled in glass to 'repair' them. Units full of debris and moisture. No thermal qualities.

Being sympathetic to this property due to it's age, we removed the units form the timber windows, and had the original leaded unit remade in traditional lead work and then sealed between two units of glass to create a thermal efficient unit but still maintaining the aesthetics of the original glazing.
Damage caused by bike handle bars falling against it. This glass was actually against building regulations and completely unsafe as it should have been Toughened glass for safety as it is next to a door and below 800mm from the floor level.
Brand new unit replacement to match the previous pattern and specification BUT now it complies with Building Regulations as we had it made from Toughened glass.
Customer requested the glass have design etched into it of their favourite football team. This was part of a new window we fitted into a garage.
This toughened double glazed unit had shattered due to being incorrectly installed. As the frame contracted in changing temperatures it pout pressure on the glass which caused it to shatter. We taped the glass up until the new unit was made in order to prevent glass form falling out and creating a mess.

We installed a new UPVC window, as part of the job, the customer requested that the original stained glass were use din the new double glazed units. We were unable to cut the originals down but fortunately they fitted the new window exactly.
